Fry Takes Home Honors for Tourneau and Goodyear Mobile Websites from the Web Marketing Association

Fry (a MICROS-Retail Company) has been recognized with two m.WebAwards for mobile sites it created for luxury watch retailer Tourneau and Goodyear Auto Service Centers.

The first annual m.WebAwards (MobileWebAwards Competition) are hosted by the Web Marketing Association. They honor excellence in mobile websites and apps, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible, and showcase the best in award-winning mobile development.

Fry was awarded Best Retail Mobile Website for Tourneau and Outstanding Mobile Website for Goodyear:

Tourneau

The Tourneau.com mobile experience targets the luxury customer, the collector and the aspirational customer alike. The site allows visitors to place timepieces in a virtual “tray” and make an appointment to see those same timepieces in a store. This approach has proven to be very appealing to busy executives, as well as early adopters – both of whom are fully exploiting the advantages of the mobile channel.

With design from Fry’s design team, generously sized browse images and an image-centric product detail page respect the beauty of the products and free them from crowded text and other digital noise. While the full Tourneau.com seeks to claim the position as the authority on luxury timepieces, the mobile site is its portable counterpart, leaving aside the larger brand imagery and lifestyle content for a more focused shopping experience.

Goodyear Auto Service Center

Context is everything to a mobile user, and when analytics proved nearly 10 percent of the Goodyear site’s users were accessing it via a mobile device, Fry wanted to make sure to provide the right experience to mobile users at the right time.

With design from its design team, Fry designed a mobile experience in which people can locate a store using mobile location services, browse and select tires, and book an appointment. The mobile site is also cost-effective—the same site administration tools, product data, etc. feed the mobile site and the desktop site. They are essentially the same site utilizing templates optimized for each channel, but providing an overall consistent experience to customers across channels.
