Fry, Inc., a leading e-commerce design, development and managed services provider, today announced that the Web site design and re-launch of ShoeMall.com contributed to a 44% online sales increase in 2006 for ShoeMall, one of the nation's largest online shoe retailers.
ShoeMall, which features hundreds of name brands and thousands of styles, offers the largest selection of shoes for women and men. Their research indicated that size and price are the main factors that influence shopping for shoes online. To meet shoppers' needs, the new site uses 'Shoe Finder', an innovative search tool developed by Fry. The Shoe Finder search tool engages consumers in a more satisfying shopping experience by showing only the shoes that are available in their size and price range. Shoe Finder quickly returns product options in the colors and sizes the shopper has selected.
"ShoeMall.com is built with customer-centric features that create a tailored experience and ease-of-use," said David Fry, president and chief executive officer of Fry, Inc. "The new site is helping ShoeMall generate new business, a loyal following of repeat customers and gives ShoeMall the ability to easily launch additional e-commerce sites in the future."
The site was built with Fry's Open Commerce Platform™ (OCP), an e-commerce solution that enables retailers to quickly develop an online store and expand their e-commerce business.
"ShoeMall is proof that women who have made 'having it all' their life's mission, really can have it all," said Adrienne Hartman, Internet Director at ShoeMall. "They've mastered the art of multitasking and have perfected their repertoire of time-saving tricks and techniques. We've become an online shopping culture and new technology has made finding shoes online easier and more enjoyable than ever."
"In 2005, U.S. consumers purchased more than 1.4 billion pairs of shoes according to research from the NPD Group," added Hartman. "People spent $42 billion accessorizing their feet – that's a remarkable 9 percent increase over 2004. ShoeMall.com is capturing a significant share of that passion for shoe shopping."
