Fry, Inc.’s Open Commerce Platform™ (OCP) Cited By Independent Research Firm

Report evaluates online commerce platforms on flexibility, merchandising and administration

Fry, Inc. announced its Open Commerce Platform™ (OCP) was named as a top performer in JupiterResearch’s report, "Online Commerce Platforms: Mitigating Classic Challenges Through Proper Vendor Selection." Fry’s OCP received top ratings of "high" for flexibility, merchandising and administration. It was the only firm to receive the rating in all three categories for which platform vendors were evaluated.

Open Commerce Platform is an e-commerce solution that enables retailers and manufacturers to quickly develop an online store and expand their e-commerce business. Fry clients utilizing the OCP framework include Ann Taylor, Whirlpool, Maidenform, World Market and Lumber Liquidators.

For the December 2006 report, JupiterResearch, a division of JupiterKagan, Inc. and a leading authority on the impact of the Internet and emerging consumer technologies on business, evaluated the e-commerce solutions of Fry and six other firms.

According to the report, 27 percent of large companies are planning to migrate their existing online platform during the next 12 months. The report guides merchants through an evaluation process based on the flexibility of each offering, its merchandising capabilities and the ease of application administration.

"We continue to evolve Open Commerce Platform with today’s complex retail environment in mind," said David Fry, president and CEO of Fry. "We’re pleased that the platform is meeting the needs of retailers and manufacturers, especially in a time when many are looking to improve their e-commerce capabilities."

The report states: based on the flexibility of Open Commerce Platform, Fry can create highly customized commerce sites for its customers, providing them with a robust set of tools to manage clients’ interactions.
